Core Scientific, who’s the world's largest publicly traded bitcoin mining company, has started to report its daily bitcoin production figures on its website to improve transparency.
According to Core Scientific CEO, Mike Levitt, in a press release, the reasoning behind reporting the daily figure is because it’s one of the most important performance measures of the company, and would like to increase its transparency for shareholders.
Core Scientific mined 36.8 BTC on Sunday according to its website in the upper left corner and is officially the first public miner to start reporting the amount of Bitcoin mined on a daily basis at 12:00pm EST (16:00 UTC).
Most publicly traded bitcoin mining companies report monthly figures including the amount of bitcoin mined, hash rate and bitcoin held in treasuries.
This development is leveling up the transparency of the entire industry, making it one of the most transparent industries in the world. Blockstream and Block (SQ) plan to give a lot more information about their mining operations. The two partners have announced that a small bitcoin mine powered by solar panels and Tesla batteries will also be revealing real-time data on a dashboard, including the site's energy consumption and hash rate.
