In a testament to his support for Bitcoin, Miami mayor Francis Suarez announced on Wednesday that the Miami municipal webpage now hosts the Bitcoin white paper:

"The City of Miami believes in #Bitcoin and I’m working day and night to turn Miami into a hub for crypto innovation. Proud to say Miami is the first municipal government to host Satoshi’s White Paper on government site."

This comes shortly after Congressman Patrick McHenry made a similar move, posting the white paper on the website of the House of Representatives website.

The two are among the two most prominent Bitcoin supporters in American public office.

The last few days have seen many host the white paper on their website, following a series of legal threats issued Craig Wright against Bitcoin.org and BitcoinCore.org, as Wright sought to pressure the sites into taking down the white paper, insisting that he owned the copyright to the white paper as well as the aforementioned domain names.

With this decision to support the Bitcoin community, Suarez further cements his involvement in the space.

Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss sat down with Suarez earlier this month to chat about Bitcoin and what Miami can do to cater to the market. The mayor had previously hinted that he was open to allocating some of Miami's balance sheet to Bitcoin, following the paths of MicroStrategy and other corporations.

When asked about this plan in an interview with Fox Business, Suarez mentioned Bitcoin's strong price appreciation against the U.S. dollar over time as a reason that he should make that allocation.
