The charitable Bitcoin development community, Brink, received a generous donation of $150,000 from Samara Asset Group, an alternative asset manager that prioritizes Bitcoin.
The donation will be used for funding the annual salary of a developer who will contribute to the growth and development of the Bitcoin network. Samara has pledged to continue this donation for the next three years, solidifying their commitment to supporting the advancement of Bitcoin.
The pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, disappeared around ten years ago, leaving the Bitcoin community to take charge of the network’s development. Currently, charitable organizations like Brink have emerged as a favored approach for donors to support Bitcoin.
Samara CEO Patrick Lowry stated that “we are proud to back Bitcoin builders, not only by investing in many of the world’s best companies building infrastructure for Bitcoin, but now by donating to Brink to finance a developer for the next three years."
Expressing his appreciation for Samara's contribution to the Bitcoin community, Mike Schmidt, Executive Director of Brink, stated that Bitcoin development is a public good. It requires the support of organizations such as Samara and individuals like Lowry, who acknowledge the significance of enhancing the security, stability, and progress of the Bitcoin software, which serves as the foundation of the entire industry.
The firm is considering a global listing to enhance its trading liquidity and attract potential shareholders from new markets.
