B HODL, listed on AQUIS under the ticker HODL and on the Frankfurt exchange as F5S, was established to accumulate Bitcoin and generate revenue from its treasury assets.
At the time B HODL was admitted to the market, Blockstream CEO Adam Back held a 25.53% ownership stake, with other early shareholders including CoinCorner, Rise Investments, and several additional investors.
As part of its previously stated commitments, the company intends to direct a portion of capital raised and future fund returns toward initiatives that contribute to the development of the UK Bitcoin ecosystem.
First Grant Awarded to Brink
The company selected Brink as the first beneficiary of its UK Bitcoin Ecosystem Grant and Investment Program.
Brink is a donation-funded organization engaged in Bitcoin-focused research, protocol development, and developer education.
The grant will support Brink’s technical and community-oriented activities.
In a statement, Freddie New, CEO of B HODL, explained the rationale behind the choice of recipient.
"We have chosen Brink as the first recipient of our grant and investment program for a simple reason - the security, stability and ongoing strength of the Bitcoin protocol is absolutely fundamental not just to our own business, but also to Bitcoin itself, and to the entire Bitcoin ecosystem. Supporting the developers who work in this space was therefore an easy decision for us to make."
Mike Schmidt, Executive Director at Brink, acknowledged the contribution.
"Thank you to the B HODL team for choosing Brink as their first UK Bitcoin ecosystem grant! Hopefully B HODL's leadership here inspires other Bitcoin companies to also support the critical development work underpinning the Bitcoin network."
Joining CryptoUK’s Advisory Board
Alongside the grant announcement, B HODL reported that it will join the Advisory Board of CryptoUK, the industry organization that serves as secretariat for the APPG on Crypto and Digital Assets.
The APPG convenes legislators, regulators, and industry representatives to examine issues relating to digital assets and regulatory policy.
According to the company, participation on the Advisory Board will allow it to contribute a Bitcoin-focused viewpoint in discussions held through the parliamentary forum.
New said that B HODL views regulatory discussions as an important part of the broader Bitcoin environment.
By joining CryptoUK’s Advisory Board, the company intends to ensure that a Bitcoin-specific perspective is included in parliamentary discussions on digital assets and to clarify distinctions between Bitcoin and the wider digital asset sector.
B HODL stated that additional grants under its support program will be announced as further recipients are selected.
